The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating six additional COVID-19 cases, one of which is a local case linked with a 27-year-old male airline ground crew member carrying the L452R strain.
The male patient also works part-time at Uptown Plaza in Tai Po and the local linked case is a 24-year-old woman who is his colleague.
She last went to work on June 23 and was arranged to go to a quarantine centre on June 24 as a close contact of the male patient.
The woman developed a fever on June 26 and was admitted to hospital the same day.
The centre’s investigations revealed that she had not received a COVID-19 vaccine. The Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory Services Branch is carrying out genetic analysis to identify whether the patient carries any mutant strain.
The Government will arrange for Block 10, Tai Po Centre, Tai Po, where the patient lives, her workplace and the places she had visited during the incubation and infectious period to be included in a compulsory testing notice today.
The remaining five newly reported cases are imported.
