The Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau announced today the setting up of a co-ordination office to carry out planning and implementation work for the upcoming National Games, National Games for Persons with Disabilities and National Special Olympic Games. The National Games Coordination Office, led by three senior directorate officers, will work closely with the governments of Guangdong and the Macao Special Administration Region to co-organise the 15th National Games. The State Council announced in August 2021 that the 15th National Games are to be co-hosted in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau in 2025, the first time Hong Kong will have co-hosted the National Games. The three locations will also co-host the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games after the 15th National Games are held. The Transport Department announced today that the water taxi ferry service will operate on a trial basis from July 3, with a special departure on July 1 to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Service operator Fortune Ferry Company will launch a trial of the Hung Hom - Tsim Sha Tsui East - Central (Circular) short-working route service with operation on Saturday nights from July 3 onwards.
There will be one departure at 7.20pm on Saturdays from Hung Hom (South) Ferry Pier, with calling points at Tsim Sha Tsui Landing No. 1 on the waterfront beside the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui East and Central Pier No. 9.
Passengers can freely hop on and off at any calling point. The full journey time is approximately 70 minutes. They can enjoy the spectacular night scene of Victoria Harbour and the Symphony of Lights show during the journey.
To celebrate the 24th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR, there will be a special departure on July 1 from Hung Hom (South) Ferry Pier at 7.20pm.
The adult full fare of the route is $48 while the fares for each section are $10 (Hung Hom - Tsim Sha Tsui East) and $14 (Tsim Sha Tsui East - Central).
There will be a half-fare concession for children, the elderly and people with disabilities.
