The Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau announced today the setting up of a co-ordination office to carry out planning and implementation work for the upcoming National Games, National Games for Persons with Disabilities and National Special Olympic Games. The National Games Coordination Office, led by three senior directorate officers, will work closely with the governments of Guangdong and the Macao Special Administration Region to co-organise the 15th National Games. The State Council announced in August 2021 that the 15th National Games are to be co-hosted in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau in 2025, the first time Hong Kong will have co-hosted the National Games. The three locations will also co-host the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games after the 15th National Games are held. About 4,826,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 2,817,100 people receiving their first dose and around 2,009,700 getting their second dose.
Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,143,600 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 1,673,500 people have received the BioNTech one.
For the second dose, about 828,300 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 1,181,400 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.
About 55,300 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.
About 5,700 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,700 people received their second dose.
For the BioNTech vaccine, about 21,000 people received their first dose and about 18,900 people received their second dose.
The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97%, while it is 98% for the BioNTech one.
As of 8pm, about 4,100 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 31,200 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.
As of midnight, 10 people were sent to hospitals.
