Chief Executive John Lee cheered on the Hong Kong athletes taking part in various events at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou today. Mr Lee went to games venues to watch events in which Hong Kong athletes were competing, including swimming, wushu and fencing, and extended his warmest congratulations to the athletes who won medals. Noting that having the games in their own country is of great importance to Hong Kong athletes, Mr Lee said he was pleased to have the opportunity to watch Hong Kong competitors strive for excellence and demonstrate extraordinary capabilities. The Government today announced that it will maintain most of the social distancing measures currently in place for another 14 days starting tomorrow.
The existing catering business requirements and restrictions will be maintained during the specified period.
Except for bars or pubs which are subject to other requirements, all catering businesses must operate according to one operating mode among Types A, B, C and D Mode of Operation.
The existing requirements and restrictions applicable to bathhouses, party rooms, clubs or nightclubs, karaoke establishments and mahjong-tin kau premises will be maintained.
Meanwhile, the Government will refine the measures applicable to public skating rinks, cinemas, sports premises and swimming pools.
The current prohibition on group gatherings of more than four people in public places, as well as the mask-wearing requirement will continue.
The Government will gazette the directions and specifications under relevant regulations.
