Govt to enhance securities trading

It is a pleasure to be here with you today, especially after an accident that has reminded me of the importance of staying vigilant even in relatively peaceful times. Continuously enhancing competitiveness despite good business is also a theme I wish to harp on in today's speech.   Some of you may recall that I last spoke to you in November 2018. That was into the second year of my tenure, witnessing the celebration of the 40th anniversary of our nation's reform and opening up, and the consecutive opening of two major pieces of cross-boundary transport infrastructure - the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. 2 imported COVID-19 cases identified

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating two additional imported COVID-19 cases involving patients who arrived from Kenya and Pakistan.   The centre is also investigating an overseas infection case involving a 52-year-old woman who tested negative in Hong Kong on September 8 and travelled to the UK on September 11 by flight CX255.   Her specimen collected in the UK on September 13 tested positive and she had been asymptomatic. She received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine in April and May on the Mainland.   While an epidemiological investigation and contact tracing of the case continues, as a prudent measure, Butterfly On Prat Boutique Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui where the patient resided during the incubation period will be included in a compulsory testing notice.   Specified people who had been at the relevant venue at specified periods must undergo testing by the specified date.   A total of 36 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government’s dedicated webpage.
