Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau met a delegation led by Guangdong Provincial Medical Products Administration (GDMPA) General Director Jiang Xiaodong today, with both sides agreeing to further deepen collaboration in relevant areas. Prof Lo said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government expressed its sincere gratitude to the GDMPA for its staunch support for Hong Kong in the past, including the implementation of the initiatives of, among others, the measure of using Hong Kong registered drugs and medical devices used in Hong Kong public hospitals in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and streamlining of the approval procedures for Hong Kong registered traditional proprietary Chinese medicines (pCms) for external use to be registered and sold in the Mainland. The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating two additional imported COVID-19 cases involving a woman and a man who arrived from the Philippines and South Korea.
One of the imported cases is a 56-year-old man who arrived from South Korea. He lives at Amber Garden, 110 Blue Pool Road, Happy Valley.
The patient tested negative in Hong Kong on August 16 and travelled to the US on August 18.
He returned to Hong Kong on September 7 by flight KE607 and his specimen collected upon arrival at the airport tested positive with the L452R mutant strain but not the N501Y or E484K mutant genes.
The patient works at Room 602, 6/F, Tesbury Centre, 28 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai and he last went to work on August 17.
The buildings where he resided and worked in Hong Kong during the incubation period are included in a compulsory testing notice.
The centre also reminded specified people linked to Block 1, Bo Shek Mansion, 328 Sha Tsui Road, Tsuen Wan to undergo compulsory testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.
A total of 62 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
