Secretary for Health Prof Lo Chung-mau met a delegation led by Guangdong Provincial Medical Products Administration (GDMPA) General Director Jiang Xiaodong today, with both sides agreeing to further deepen collaboration in relevant areas. Prof Lo said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government expressed its sincere gratitude to the GDMPA for its staunch support for Hong Kong in the past, including the implementation of the initiatives of, among others, the measure of using Hong Kong registered drugs and medical devices used in Hong Kong public hospitals in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and streamlining of the approval procedures for Hong Kong registered traditional proprietary Chinese medicines (pCms) for external use to be registered and sold in the Mainland. About 7,637,600 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,162,100 people receiving their first dose and around 3,475,600 getting their second dose.
Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,527,800 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,634,300 people got the BioNTech one.
For the second dose, about 1,298,900 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,176,700 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.
About 49,200 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.
Around 5,800 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,200 people received their second dose.
For the BioNTech vaccine, about 16,200 people received their first dose and around 18,000 people got their second dose.
The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine and the BioNTech one at community vaccination centres is about 96%.
As of 8pm, about 1,900 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 8,800 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.
As of midnight, 14 people were sent to hospitals.
