Members of the public can now apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) through an online service launched today by the Transport Department. Users of “iAM Smart+” or eligible applicants holding a valid personal digital certificate may apply online via the GovHK website and receive their IDP by post, without the need to visit a licensing office in person. If the submitted documents and photograph are in order, the department will normally send successful applicants their IDP by registered post within 10 working days of the online application being made. The department reminded those who plan to drive outside of Hong Kong to allow sufficient time for the IDP applications to be processed. Citizens may continue to submit IDP applications by visiting licensing offices in person. Appointments can be booked online or by calling 3763 8080 to save queuing time. About 7,887,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to the public, with about 4,260,300 people receiving their first dose and around 3,627,300 getting their second dose.
Among those given the first dose of vaccines, about 1,550,000 people have received the Sinovac jab and about 2,710,300 people got the BioNTech one.
For the second dose, about 1,345,000 people have received the Sinovac vaccine, while about 2,282,300 people have been administered the BioNTech jab.
About 45,200 people received jabs under the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme today.
Around 5,100 people received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine and around 9,800 people received their second dose.
For the BioNTech vaccine, about 10,400 people received their first dose and around 20,000 people got their second dose.
The overall percentage of people who received the Sinovac vaccine at community vaccination centres is about 97%, while it is about 96% for the BioNTech one.
As of 8pm, about 1,300 people booked their first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine online, while about 6,500 reserved their first and second doses of the BioNTech jab.
As of midnight, four people were sent to hospitals.
