The Executive Council meeting today and the preceding media session have been cancelled as Chief Executive Carrie Lam is taking leave due to an elbow injury.
Mrs Lam fell at Government House last night and went to hospital by herself. She was diagnosed with a minor right elbow fracture.
On the doctor’s advice, Mrs Lam stayed in hospital for observation and will be on leave for the time being.
During her absence, Chief Secretary John Lee will be Acting Chief Executive.
