The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 3,172 additional locally acquired COVID-19 cases, of which 449 were identified through nucleic acid tests and 2,723 via rapid antigen tests. Separately, 111 imported cases were detected. Furthermore, seven residential care homes for the elderly and five for disabled people logged 13 cases involving their residents. The Hospital Authority reported that 20 patients passed away in public hospitals. According to a preliminary analysis, the cause of death for nine patients was related to COVID-19, while that of the remaining 11 patients was unrelated. It also registered eight more critical cases, bringing the number of patients in critical condition to 93. Separately, to align with the Government’s cancellation of issuing isolation orders from tomorrow, the authority will, starting from the same day, announce at 8.30am and 1pm the information of general out-patient clinics (GOPC) quota reserved for COVID-19
The 2021 final register for the Rural Representative Election (RRE) was released today, which includes the particulars of registered electors of existing villages, indigenous villages and composite indigenous villages and market towns.
People may visit the RRE Voter Registration Information Enquiry System to check their registration particulars, or call the hotline at 2152 1521 during business hours to check the information.
A full copy of the final register is available at the Electoral Registration Officer's office at the Home Affairs Department at 30/F Southorn Centre in Wan Chai.
A copy of the specific divisions of the final register for a rural area that belongs to the rural committees concerned is also placed at the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer's offices in the respective New Territories district offices.
In accordance with the judgment handed down by the Court of Appeal on May 21 and the order made at the hearing on May 27 last year, validly nominated candidates, members of the press, political parties, the Heung Yee Kuk, respective rural committees for the relevant rural areas, indigenous inhabitants of the relevant indigenous villages and composite indigenous villages and residents of the relevant existing villages or market towns for any purpose relating to the election may inspect the final registers of electors.
Those eligible may make appointments for inspection by calling the hotline and return an official reservation form to the department by a specified deadline to confirm the booking.
