Bernadette Linn visits SZ

Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn today visited Shenzhen to learn about the development of local districts, particularly in attracting industries, as reference for the development of the Northern Metropolis.      Ms Linn joined sharing sessions by the Development & Reform Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, and the Shenzhen governments of Luohu and Pingshan districts on the development of Sungang and Qingshuihe sub-districts in Luohu as well as Pingshan and Baguang sub-district of Dapeng New District.   The discussion topics included the planning and development process and selection of developers as well as a visit to some of the districts.      The development of Sungang sub-district in Luohu focuses on modern commercial business, while the neighbouring Qingshuihe sub-district, planned as a “Headquarters Economic Cluster of Digital Economy”, is a base for the artificial intelligence industry.   The Life & Health Technology Park and Biomedical Accelera

Hospital Authority chair reappointed

The Government announced today the reappointment of the incumbent chairman and two serving members as well as the appointment of two new members to the Hospital Authority.   The appointments of Incumbent Chairman Henry Fan and two serving members, Duncan Chiu and Billy Wong, are for two years starting December 1.   The two newly appointed members are Wan Man-yee and Maisy Ho. They are also appointed for two years starting December 1.   Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan welcomed Mr Wan and Ms Ho in joining the authority. She thanked the chairman and two serving members who have been reappointed.   Prof Chan also thanked the outgoing members, Ivan Sze, Priscilla Wong and Jason Yeung, for their invaluable contributions to the authority during the past six years.   The authority comprises a chairman, 22 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the authority.

CE to meet Congo president

Skewed remarks about NSL rejected

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today said it strongly disapproved of and firmly rejected the wanton slanders and smears concerning the implementation of “one country, two systems” and the National Security Law (NSL) in Hong Kong by certain US and UK politicians.   In a statement issued tonight, the Hong Kong SAR Government noted that such slanders and smears were recently made through a statement by certain members of the US Senate on the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and the third anniversary of the implementation of the NSL, and by the House of Commons of the UK Parliament through a debate on the aforesaid third anniversary.   It said it strongly disapproves of and firmly rejects the unfounded remarks and slanders by the US and UK politicians regarding the Hong Kong SAR where “one country, two systems” is successfully implemented.   It also strongly urges the politicians to immediately stop acting against the international law and
