10 jab centres to extend operation

The Government announced today that 10 community vaccination centres (CVCs) will extend their operation until March 31, 2022.   It explained that, in view of the vaccines supply and the demand for vaccination, the Government will adjust the vaccination programme's operation mode.   It will gradually shift the focus from providing vaccination services mainly through CVCs as in the past to a variety of vaccination venues including CVCs, Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Stations, private clinics and the mobile vaccination station to be launched early next month.   From 9am tomorrow, the online booking system will gradually release the quota of the 10 CVCs as from January 1, 2022, for booking of the vaccination service.   Eleven CVCs will be closed by the end of this year. New TV frequencies reminder issued

The Office of the Communications Authority announced today that six digital TV programme channels in Hong Kong will use new transmitting frequencies starting December 1.   Property owners and managers who have not yet arranged with their contractors to reconfigure the common antenna broadcast distribution (CABD) systems of their buildings must act immediately, the office said.   Otherwise, residents may not be able to continue receiving the TV programme channels concerned after midnight on that day, it added.   The six channels are Jade 81 of Television Broadcasts Limited, ViuTVsix 96 and ViuTV 99 of HK Television Entertainment Company Limited and RTHK TV 31, RTHK TV 32 and RTHK TV 33 of Radio Television Hong Kong.   So far around 90% of households in multi-storey buildings with CABD systems in Hong Kong have completed the reconfiguration work.   Upon the completion of the reconfiguration of their CABD systems by contractors and on their advice, property owners and managers should inform the residents that they may need to rescan for the TV programme channels on their digital TV receivers.   Property managers should pay particular attention to the elderly, ethnic minorities and residents with special needs and provide appropriate assistance as necessary.   Households using self-provided antennae, including residents of village houses, bungalows and old tenement buildings, do not need to adjust their digital TV receivers or antennae at this juncture.   They should rescan for TV programme channels on their digital TV receivers only if they cannot receive any of the TV programme channels after midnight on December 1.   Call 2961 6333 for enquiries.   Click here for the guide on rescanning digital TV programme channels.
