Chief Executive John Lee cheered on the Hong Kong athletes taking part in various events at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou today. Mr Lee went to games venues to watch events in which Hong Kong athletes were competing, including swimming, wushu and fencing, and extended his warmest congratulations to the athletes who won medals. Noting that having the games in their own country is of great importance to Hong Kong athletes, Mr Lee said he was pleased to have the opportunity to watch Hong Kong competitors strive for excellence and demonstrate extraordinary capabilities. The Government today completed a joint enforcement operation on a compulsory testing notice for Cheung Hing Building in Yau Ma Tei.
The enforcement action was carried out from 7.30am to 10.30am by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office together with Police, the Department of Health and the Auxiliary Medical Service.
During the operation, about 100 people’s test records were checked and seven were found to have violated the compulsory testing notice.
Noting that the enforcement process may cause inconvenience to residents, the Government appealed for their understanding as the operation was conducted to stop the spread of COVID-19.
