With the aim of combatting the fear and misconceptions surrounding mental illness, Castle Peak Hospital’s Mind Space museum enables visitors to experience hallucinations, similar to the sensory experiences mentally ill patients encounter, by way of rooms that utilise virtual reality (VR) technology. A group of secondary students recently embarked on a journey through Mind Space after registering and receiving patient wristbands. This unique mental health experience museum provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the development of psychiatric services in Hong Kong. Displays in the museum showcase intriguing relics, including the evolution of restraints and handwritten patient records. The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 515 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 136 were detected by nucleic acid tests and 379 were identified via rapid antigen tests.
Among the new cases, 42 are imported while the rest are locally infected.
Since the onset of the fifth wave of the epidemic, 1,202,522 people have contracted the virus and 9,173 people passed away.
The Hospital Authority reported that three doctors from the intensive care unit at North District Hospital tested positive via rapid antigen tests and added that further test results are pending.
The authority stressed that the service provided at the intensive care unit of its New Territories East Cluster has not been affected.
Separately, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration to cover at Po Yang Mansion of Tsui Woo Terrace in Taikoo Shing. People in the restricted area are required to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.
As there were positive sewage test results with relatively high viral loads in several buildings and housing estates in Tsuen Wan, Southern and Central & Western districts, the respective district offices will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleaning workers and property management staff working there.
