The Environmental Protection Department said it does not tolerate concrete batching plants operating without a licence and will make every effort to stop any illegal operations. The department made the statement in response to media reports yesterday of a concrete batching plant at 20 Tung Yuen Street in Yau Tong continuing to operate without holding a valid Specified Process Licence (SPL). The department has been closely monitoring the operation of two plants, both owned by China Concrete. The other plant is at 22 Tung Yuen Street in Yau Tong. Regarding the plant at 20 Tung Yuen Street, the Air Pollution Control Appeal Board dismissed an appeal lodged by China Concrete against the department’s refusal of its application for renewal of an SPL for the plant on November 22. Under the Air Pollution Control (Specified Processes) Regulations, the plant’s SPL ceased to be valid with immediate effect and the department issued a letter requesting that all works be halte
A total of 352 stalls were let out in the two-day open auction that ended today for stalls at the 2024 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair.
They comprised 165 for dry goods, 175 for wet goods, eight for thematic stalls and four for fast food.
The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department said the average bid for the stalls was $11,378, with the successful bids ranging from $8,540 to $33,000.
The auction for the Tat Tung Road Garden Lunar New Year Fair stalls in Tung Chung will be held tomorrow at Lai Chi Kok Government Offices, 19 Lai Wan Road, at 9am.
Auctions for stalls at the Lunar New Year fairs in Fa Hui Park and Cheung Sha Wan Playground in Sham Shui Po and those in Morse Park in Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong Recreation Ground will be held at the same venue from November 17 to 22. The auction sessions are scheduled from 9am or 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 2pm until completion of the auction.
